PRESENCE IN PAIN

How to show up for yourself and others in emotional pain

Welcome

Let’s be honest with each other, shall we? Life is hard, full of heartbreak, loss, and suffering. While emotional pain and grief can’t be solved in the traditional sense, they can be tended to and carried. Whatever the heartache, we do have the ability to reduce our own and each other’s suffering. We just haven’t been taught how.

My name is Victoria Lantz and welcome to Presence In Pain: How to Show Up for Yourself and Others in Emotional Pain. Through the Presence In Pain writing course and supporting community, I hope to open an honest conversation around how to best support ourselves and others during times of emotional pain. Our world desperately needs this, now more than ever.

The Presence In Pain Writing Course

Why Presence In Pain?

Presence In Pain was born on an unremarkable Tuesday morning in October 2018. I woke to my typical experience at that time, an overwhelming emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual despair that had overtaken me as the result of a recent heartbreaking loss. This loss triggered all of the unprocessed grief from my past and much to my surprise, there was a significant amount of loss I hadn’t worked through.

As I struggled to stay afloat during what was such an intense time for me, I discovered how to show up for myself and others in emotional pain. After tending to my emotional pain and grief, I was capable of processing and integrating what I’d been through, continuing my work of growing in wisdom, compassion, and love.

Presence In Pain: How to Show Up for Yourself and Others in Emotional pain is my attempt to share what I learned.
